Internships & Co-Ops
Not all construction companies are the same, not all internships are either. At Corna Kokosing we provide opportunities for associates to grow professionally while working with a brand built on Integrity, Quality and Commitment. Corna Kokosing is a self-performing construction manager, general contractor and design builder focused on complex commercial projects for corporate, cultural, education, healthcare, and industrial organizations. We are headquartered in Columbus, Ohio - a city that we are proud to have ‘built’ for many years. We have not only constructed or renewed many of the landmark buildings in the area, we are also active partners with many charitable, cultural and faith-based organizations that are the foundation of this thriving city. We have established our brand reputation by successfully executing projects in adherence to strict quality and safety measures, while developing lasting relationships in the process. Interested in joining our organization to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom to hand-on experience as an Intern/Co-op? We’d like to help you. We offer three different areas of focus for Internship/Co-Ops. Each Intern/Co-Op is paired with a team member who will serve as your mentor during the course of your work with Corna Kokosing.
As an intern/co-op in this role, you will assist in collecting data for entry into change orders and purchase orders, learn about quantity estimates, attend job meetings and produce meeting minutes. You will help create and maintain as-built documents and track the completion of punch lists. You will also be exposed to safety audits and site planning.
During the course of your internship/co-op, you will assist in gathering, calculating, and compiling data for use in bid proposal estimates. You will have the opportunity to assist in monitoring conceptual estimates with actual cost data, participate in pre-bid meetings and learn about bid strategy and presentations.
Through this internship/co-op experience you will learn and grow in the field under the direction of a project superintendent. You will be exposed to standards, codes and specifications, work alongside the crafts people, learn construction means and methods, and learn about the importance of safe practices and managing safety hazards related to the general public.
